Intercept Announces Shipping the MoZaiX Schematic Design Application
Robust and intuitive front-end schematic capture application now available
ATLANTA - September 2000 - Intercept Technology Inc. announces the shipping of MoZaiX, their flexible, front-end schematic capture application supported on Win98/2000/NT, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris platforms. Together with the Pantheon PCB/Hybrid/MCM design application, MoZaiX enables designers to transition seamlessly between schematic, layout, and manufacturing in an open, ASCII, single file format.
"Intercept developed MoZaiX with highly advanced features and capabilities to ensure that engineers can effectively solve their design challenges, " stated Steve Klare, Intercept President. "With MoZaiX, engineers are able to quickly and accurately create a schematic. The intuitive design environment allows them to minimize design risk and optimize the quality of the final product," added Klare.
MoZaiX provides engineers with a design environment that allows them to adapt any design style and process flow required to complete the job. Multiple views allows engineers to access different schematic database objects simultaneously, enhancing symbol and sheet editing and global design maintenance. For added control, MoZaiX can update all instances of a symbol used in a design as modifications are made. For added benefits, MoZaiX includes complete schematic hierarchical design, with instance and connection data reported and maintained across schematic sheets as well as up and down a design's hierarchy.
Other highly advanced features include powerful symbol generation and editing, complete forward and back annotation, flexible cross-probing, and accurate design data verification. To provide seamless schematic-to-layout compatibility, many Pantheon features are incorporated in the MoZaiX interface, including mouse strokes, configurable pull-down and edit menus, PERL database extensions, and dialog and command line options. The tight integration between Pantheon and MoZaiX allows engineers to work in tandem, which significantly reduces design cycle time. This common framework of user interface features to make it easier for designers to transition between applications.
"Our approach to developing MoZaiX was to include everything engineers need to create professional, advanced schematic designs," said Larry Roberts, Intercept Lead Programmer. "This maximizes the productivity of engineers who design schematics. Because of this we believe that MoZaiX will be a beneficial addition to the Intercept product family."
The MoZaiX schematic capture application is currently available from Intercept. A MoZaiX demonstration will be provided at the PCB East conference September, 2000 in Worcester, MA, USA. In addition, Intercept will offer training on MoZaiX in Atlanta.
Intercept Technology Background
Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Intercept Technology Inc. has shipped software products worldwide since 1990. Introduced at the 1996 Design Automation Conference in Las Vegas, the Pantheon product family is a highly advanced PCB/Hybrid/MCM and Multi-Wire software application for today's complex design requirements. Whether for simple boards or extremely dense, fine-pitch, multi-layer designs with high component counts and mixed signal technology, Pantheon has the interactive control that gives you the results you want, fast.
Pantheon is a fully integrated, single-window software application with intuitive WYSIWYG graphics for PCB layout, including geometry library capabilities, intuitive component placement, and flexible interactive routing. Automatic routing is accomplished with Zuken-Redac's Route Editor or Cadence's SPECCTRA. Pantheon provides high technology design capabilities, including blind and buried pins and vias, complex area fill, split power planes, embedded and curved traces, design re-use features, and complete manufacturing output (Gerber 274X, IPC-D-350, IPC-D-356, and GenCAD). Pantheon provides Zero Design Defects (ZDD) through double verification of the PCB/Hybrid/MCM design and artwork manufacturing files. RF design is supported directly by the product, which interfaces to HP EEsof tools for RF simulation. Intercept products are offered on HP-UX, Linux, and PC (WIN 98/2000/NT) platforms.
